Nara Station Shopping Arcade

One of my favorite things when visiting new places is visiting the shopping arcade.

Right next to the Kintetsu Nara Station, there is a shopping arcade.

The characteristics of this arcade are the following:

1. You cannot use credit cards in a lot of shops and restaurant.
Therefore, you need to prepare a little more cash with you than usual.
I did not feel that in large cities like Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, etc.

2. Cost performance is good in Morning set (breakfast).
You can find many places to have breakfast including drink and bread in one coin (500yen).

Also you can find a lot of tasty food.

3. There are not so many souvenir shops and Nara specific goods.
I want to see more incenses, potteries, etc.
I can’t really tell what is really Nara spatiality goods.

Yonago(Tottori Prefecture)

I visited “Yonago ” in Tottori prefecture.
It is a very quiet town.
However, you can visit 25 minuts by train (Minato Liner) to visit “KITARO ROAD” that is street with a lot of Japanese Famous Monster Monuments.

You can also visit Tottori Sakyu (Tottori Sand Beach) by train.
It takes about an hour by train.

Yonago is a very quiet Town. I stayef in the “Washington Hotei”.
This Hotel is a very clean hotel, and cheep.

Also I stayed at the Super Hotel. This hotel is very environmental-kind hotel. Also very cheep, too.

It is less than 6,000yen per night.

Room size is large enough for one person.

I would have visited “Daisen” a mountain that looks like Mt. Fuji.

Because of that this mountain is often referred as “Houki Fuji”
since this area used to be called “Houki Town.

“Daisen” is rated as 3rd beautiful mountain
after Mt. Fuji and “Yarigatake” in Nagano prefecture.

Daisen is also designated as a National Park.
There are various rare plants.
You can take a buss from the Yonago Station.
It takes about 50 minutes by buss and 30 minutes by taxi.

Takayama (Town of Sake Makers)

Today’s Takayama is warm 12 ℃。

Takayama is a town with a lot of Sake Makers.
Many old houses are preserved like old time.

No more snow now.

Takayama in snow is beautifu ,but without snow is easier to walk around.

Subway in Nagoya

If you visit Nagoya, you may not to worry about the transportation.

We have variety of ways.

Within Nagoya city you can use the subway to go to most of the places you want to go.
renderedcontent-ab85ff39-c920-4e71-a8a5-84c4b77d4fa8
We have 4 major lines to cover almost entire Nagoya.

4 different colors mean 4 different lines.

Nagoya ‘s subway system is not as complicated
as Tokyo or Osaka.

and subway stations are kept clean.

But you should avoid commuting times like between 7:00 & 9:00 and 4:30&6:30.

Trains are extremely crowded with business people and students.

Some stations have protection gates for people not to
fall down from the platform also to avoid people to jump in.

We have many train accidents every year,
and these gates helps decreasing such incidents.

Such gates are slowly increasing.

Ohsukannon

Nagoya’s 2 famous spots are the “Nagoya Castle” and the “Ohsu Kannon”.

Today I am introducing the “Oshu Kannon”.
Ohsukannon

The “Ohsu Kannon” is a popular Buddhist temple in central Nagoya. Originally built during the Kamakura Period (1192-1333)

Otsu shopping arcade is a huge and popular shopping area containing over 1,200 shops and restaurants. All kinds of shops, including electrical appliance shops, secondhand clothing stores, Juelly shops, Duty Free Shop and l0ts of various regional restaurants are there.

It used to be streets to get to the temple. Many shops opened to attract people who come to the temple to pray.

As much as I remember, until 10 years ago, it was a lasted town. Only some souvenir shops and hardware stores, as well as pottery shops were there.

Of cause if you like the Japanese-Subculture “Animation” (Anime) hello, you can become the person in the Anime and can walk around the arcade feeling like you are the one.

Take pictures with many friends.

You will see many foreigners like you. You can become friends in a second…

Especially people who would like to buy Japanese Rice Cooker , this is the
place you should go to because they have not only duty free items but also
ones fit to your country’s electricity situation.

Blossom Scattering Rain

Today is probably the last day to see full blooming cherry blossoms.

This “Blossom Scattering Rain” that we call “Hana Chirashi no Ame” will blow most of the blossoms.

Then here comes green leaves and leaf eating poisones caterpillars.

Cherry blossoms are beautiful, but seeing
tons of dropped caterpillars makes people feeling very yakky.

I wish I could see petals falling a little bit longer.

It’s like light pink snow covering entire world.

Tot tori Sand Duns

I went to the Tottori Sand Dunds.
